MY JOURNEY USING ESSENTIAL OILS:
I’m a reformed candle freak! I loved the smell they produced but over time my common sense was telling me that most candles are creating a more toxic environment vs creating a balanced home environment. I use to buy the essential oils from the grocery store thinking maybe that would be a good alternative to candles but after a few uses they would just sit in a drawer of my bathroom. I guess my gut feeling knew those oils were fake and not 100% pure but instead were synthetically made and/or had added toxic chemicals during the growing and/or the very crucial part of distilling the oil form the precious plant material. So in reality they were harmful and not adding to our wellness. Essential oils are highly concentrated so that means if toxic chemicals are used at any point in this process, then the toxins are highly concentrated as well! YUK! Do not be fooled by 100% organic labels on many essential oil bottles in the grocery store...there are many loop holes many companies use and that is why your experience will not be the same.
I kept hearing about therapeutic grade essential oils and specifically about Young Living from different people in my life -from my health coach, to our dog trainer and from many of my online wellness mentors. Then I had an opportunity to use 'Stress Away'- an oil blend in a roller bottle that a friend offered me because she could tell I needed it! Within a few minutes I felt a ton better and I smelled like a spa. I was hooked and now the entire last drop of oil gets used in our house. The experience is just different AND effective!
We use Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO) and their products along with putting nutrient rich foods in our body to support our health so we can live the most vibrant life possible. We not only use them to support our body systems but I've also replaced all our house cleaning products. I was already pretty "green" when it came to our cleaning supplies but Young Living's Thieves Cleaner is now my favorite eco friendly and effective household cleaner.
When I hear about a friend or family member suffering from an ailment I feel compelled to share my knowledge (and often a sample) because I know with the support of the oils their body will often get back to normal pretty quickly. I have some freaky, amazing testimonials from our own personal experience and ones from friends who have used them as well. On a recent trip with my daughter's dance team to LA, one of the girls said to someone who was not feeling their best, "Go see Caitlyn's mom. She has these oils and she's like a "Witch Dr.". All oils are NOT created equally so please be aware that most oils (especially ones you purchase from the grocery stores...even from Whole Foods) cannot be used in the same ways that you will hear me discuss here because of the chemicals that are added. I have used several types of essential oils but my favorite for my personal health and cleaning is Young Living.
You can order Young Living products online via a wholesale membership or as a retail customer. You do not have to become a "selling" distributor but signing up for a wholesale membership offers you a significant discount. And there is a starter kit for $35 to get the wholesale benefits.
Full disclosure...let's just talk about the "elephant in the room" for a moment. Young Living is a network marketing company...AKA a MLM. I've always avoided "those" like the plague. You never have to do the “business side” of Young Living. A majority of the wholesale members are customers and enjoy an occasional referral check for sharing with their friends and family. The more I learn about the oils and Young Living products the more I want to teach others because they have been a total game changer for our family.
Young Living has been in business for 25 years & their growth over the last 5 years has exploded. I believe there are 3 main reasons for that growth. First, because people are sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know I was! People are looking for "alternatives" to improve their health or prevent poor health in the first place. It's funny though that the things that have been around for thousands of years and provided by God & nature is considered alternative. The natural stuff works and especially when you use it in conjunction with a healthy lifestyle. Secondly, because the oils have helped so many people in amazing ways, they share it via social media. With social media the exposure about Young Living oils is exploding. Thirdly, Young Living has always focused on quality of their oils from "Seed to Seal". They were "organic" before it was "en vogue" and they literally are reaping those benefits now. If the whole network marketing thing still freaks you out, let me know and if you are local, I'm glad to order some oils for you until you can see first hand how they will work for you and your family (including your pets).
