My travel must haves:
  • Young Living Essential Oils- PSA: DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT THEM! They upgrade a vacation experience more than even a 1st class ticket! The odds of feeling off during vacation are so high because of many factors. Just traveling on the plane has it’s challenges (recycled air- yuk) not to mention you are following a different routine & exposure to new foods. My top 5 oils to travel with are:
    1) Peppermint - a great one for GI support or put a drop in your hands & cup your hands & inhale deeply for take off & landing.
    2) DiGize- it’s the power house for GI support & when you are away from home GI support is a must.
    3) Thieves blend- because I don’t want any of my vacation moments stolen by feeling poorly. Thieves is great for immune support & not to mention it smells amazing in a diffuser for any weird hotel room smells.
4)Lime Vitality - or any of the citrus vitality oils but I'm currently obsessed with lime!
    5) Stress Away - it smells amazing & gets you ready for some R & R.
I could go on but you get the picture...pack some quality essential oils for overall wellness & for a great aroma!

  • Stainless steel water bottle - I like to drink out of glass as well but I really like my Swell bottle for travel because it can handle hot water as well as cold water. I love making hot tea on an airplane. The water they give you is scalding hot so I always leave a little cold water in my bottle and just pour the hot water in with the cold. Sometimes I bring my own tea bags but often I’ll just put a drop of my favorite Vitality oil in the bottle to make my own powerhouse travel tea! Of course be sure to have your water bottle empty until you get through security. Then go buy a BIG water & fill up your bottle. A lot of airports now have the water refill stations too!
  • Thieves Spray- I love this stuff! If you are a germ freak you NEED some Thieves Spray. If you use a public bathroom...you NEED Thieves spray. It is strong though so I don’t go crazy with it because even though I know it’s not full of toxic junk, someone who is not familiar with Young Living might think it might trigger a headache. Sometimes I take the spray top off and just pour a dab on a napkin and then wipe down the seat. That way the spray doesn’t get on the person next to you...unless it’s your kids or hubby...then spray away! ;)
  • Ningxia Red packets- these are great to freeze ahead of time! Then they are thawed and ready to drink on the plane or on the go for sight seeing. They taste amazing & are great pick me up since they are packed with antioxidant ingredients!
  • Fruit & nuts - I had a common sense aha recently. I can search high and low for the “healthiest” (least processed) bar for a quick snack on the go but why not just grab an apple or orange? duh! Even an avocado travels well and you can actually cut it and get the pit out with a plastic knife. No prep needed for fruits or nuts...just toss them in your carry on. As long as it’s not liquid you can bring food through security. (I’m not sure about International travel though). Thanks to Anthony Williams/Medical Medium I no long have fruit fear. He is not a doctor but his info especially regarding fruit resonated with me as some serious common sense. Now fruit is always in my carry on bags & car as a healthy snack.
  • Travel size salt & pepper - I like bringing some quality salt & pepper when I travel. Also throw in a lemon or lime which travel very well. Yep...plastic knives work just fine for cutting them too. If you put in an avocado you now have a simple, healthy & TASTY snack for on the plane. Skip the peanuts! ;)
  • Lavender Lip Balm- I always get so dry on the airplane from my lips to my hands. This amazing lip balm can double as a hand salve too! My daughter Bekah said this is her favorite "hack" I've ever told her about. I hope it helps you too.
  • A good magazine or book - I was pretty excited to see the current Time magazine has a special wellness edition. I haven't read it yet but it looks like some good tips and I'm just happy to see natural, common sense tips being suggested as our first line of defense for living a healthy life.
  • PamBee travel set: We have several PamBee travel blankets but the Notting Hill pattern was my mom's so it's extra special to me. Pam is a Southwest Airlines flight attendant & she created these awesome travel blankets when the airlines started phasing out pillows & blankets. She's also a friend of mine & just a super awesome person. If you are looking for a unique & special gift (it would be great for graduation) then check out her online store: http://www.pambee.com/whats-a-pambee/
  • Earbuds & a good playlist! Ready for take off!
  • Enjoy your travels & let me know your favorite travel companions.
I always pack my diffuser in my luggage too. It may seem a little over the top but the few times I didn’t bring it, I missed it big time! If you have Young Living’s dewdrop diffuser you can roll up the plug & tuck it into the base. It’s super sturdy and I just pack it between my clothes.
